Why should you go for fasting (and the correct way to do it) if you want to lost weight? Despite what most people associate fasting with, it isn’t limited to religious reasons. People fast for different reasons and one of these reasons is to lose weight. There are some who can’t stand fasting, but there are also some who claim that it works for them. If you are interested in trying out the fasting method, then you should do it correctly so it won’t cause any health problems for you. Through fasting, you will be able to concentrate on other things and keep your mind off the meal that is coming. When you are fasting, there’s also no need to count your calories, points, or carbohydrates.
If you plan your fasting properly, then there’s no danger to it.
Keep in mind the follow steps:
- FASTING does not translate to never eating anything. You don’t eat for a set number of hours and then you can have a free window where you can it. You can try eating normally today and then not eating the next day. Remember not to count the calories.
People call this as “intermittent fasting”, this means that you are eating your food during a specific open window of the day, and choosing not to eat food during the rest of the remaining hours of the day.
If you want to use this fasting method, you must keep these in mind:
1.) You can skip two meals in one day and then take a 24 hours off from eating. For example, today you are eating normally and you finish dinner at around 8PM and then the next time, you don’t eat anything until 8PM.
So if I stopped eating on May 11, 2016 at 6PM, I won’t eat anything until May 12, 2016 at 6PM arrives. Then I will be able to eat again.
You see, when you are eating a meal, you body will spend time trying to process that food and taking nutrients and calories from what you just ate. Your body will choose to use that energy or nutrients to give yo energy instead of the fats that’s in your body.
The body prefers to burn sugar as an energy source.
Now, what happens to your body during the “fast” stage?
Since there’s no meal available in your body to get energy from, it will have no choice but to take your fats and turn it into energy, rather than the glucose in your blood stream or glycogen in your muscles and liver. When you burn fat, you become thinner and lighter.
If you also work out during the fast hours, your body will be forced to adapt and pull energy from the fats that are in your cells. Doesn’t that sound great?
Compared to a regular day with no intermittent fasting, There’s a lot of carbs and food that you have consumed which means that the body has a lot to work with, thus it will just store fat. This is bad news for you, because it means that fat will not be burned and it will just be there, so if you want to lose weight, you fasting can be a great way to do it.
A little warning though, if you have health conditions like diabetes, you may want to check with your doctor first. Diabetic persons are prone to hypoglycemia, which is low blood sugar, so fasting may not be good for you. It may actually do more harm than good.
